Capacity Building

swisspeace provides capacity building for peacebuilding practitioners. This includes academic trainings, executive and practice-oriented courses on specific topics relevant to peacebuilding, as well as tailor-made trainings and special courses for partner organizations.
Capacity building also takes place in collaborative learning processes on specific context-related topics that draw on the experience and expertise of the participants.

Myanmar – Lessons for Peace and Conflict Studies Summer School

From 27 June to 1 July 2016, the swisspeace summer school "Myanmar - Lessons for Peace and Conflict Studies?” took place at the University of Basel with inputs from Stefan Bächtold, Rachel Gasser, Stefan Bächtold, Laurent Goetschel, Andreas Iff, and Franziska Sigrist of swisspeace, Felix Knüpling of the Forum of Federations, and Angela Ullmann of the Center for Security Studies. It was highly appreciated by the 16 participants, and 3 participants from Myanmar enriched the discussions. Also the Skype and live interviews with experts on particular topics proved valuable. Next year’s summer school will be on South Sudan.
