Conflict Transformation Approaches in Guinea

Content: swisspeace was mandated to establish 12 thematic leaflets on conflict resolution for the civil society in the Republic of Guinea as basis for mainstreaming conflict transformation within civil society organizations around the country. Based on a broad consultation, the project was implemented together with the National Council of Civil Society Organizations (CNOSG).

National Dialogue to Strengthen Capacities for Peacebuilding in Post Conflict Solomon Islands

Content: swisspeace assisted UNDP and the Ministry of National Unity, Reconciliation and Peace to develop a strategy and implementation framework for dealing with the causes of the 1998-2003 violent conflict on the Solomon Islands. It aimed at facilitating a national dialogue towards addressing the country's structural challenges and contributing to the prevention of further violence.

Dealing with the Past in the Balkans

Content: KOFF assisted UNDP-Bosnia and Herzegovina in the development of the second phase of its transitional justice program. In particular, it introduced a conceptual framework for Dealing with the Past as the methodology to structure and elaborate the activities of the joint Federal Ministry of Justice and Federal Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees working group, tasked with elaborating a national strategy for transitional justice. 

Dealing with the Past in the Balkans

Mandated by: Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Division of Political Affairs IV
Year: 2006, completed
Content: KOFF developed a methodology and prepared an assessment which outlined outstanding issues relevant to Dealing with the Past in Serbia and Kosovo and options to address them. The assessment was submitted by the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs in the form of a non-paper to the office of Martti Ahtisaari for reference in connection with the then on-going status negotiations. The Ahtisaari proposal included recommendations on the matter of past abuses, based on the Swiss option paper.
