Conflict Sensitivity Resource Facility South Sudan

swisspeace together with Saferworld and CDA have been setting up a resource facility to support donors (in particular Germany, Canada, the United States, Switzerland and the United Kingdom) to conduct their operations in South Sudan in a conflict sensitive manner in order to contribute towards sustainable peace.

From 12-15 July 2016, swisspeace gave a conflict sensitivity training workshop at the Cooperation Office of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation in Burkina Faso. The participants were both SDC staff and representatives from the local partner program DEPAC.

Myanmar – Lessons for Peace and Conflict Studies Summer School

From 27 June to 1 July 2016, the swisspeace summer school "Myanmar - Lessons for Peace and Conflict Studies?” took place at the University of Basel with inputs from Stefan Bächtold, Rachel Gasser, Stefan Bächtold, Laurent Goetschel, Andreas Iff, and Franziska Sigrist of swisspeace, Felix Knüpling of the Forum of Federations, and Angela Ullmann of the Center for Security Studies. It was highly appreciated by the 16 participants, and 3 participants from Myanmar enriched the discussions. Also the Skype and live interviews with experts on particular topics proved valuable. Next year’s summer school will be on South Sudan.
