KOFF Platform

KOFF organizes workshops and roundtable discussions on priority regions and selected topics. These events bring together representatives from governmental and non-governmental organizations as well as academia to share experience and lessons learned in order to enhance coherence and complementarity among Swiss actors' activities.

Thematic Platform Activities

Dealing with the Past Roundtables: The KOFF Dealing with the Past platform deals with one of the greatest challenges which societies faces emerging from dictatorships and violent conflict face: the past Human rights violations. Those must be addressed if a peace process is to be sustainable. Peacebuilding Analysis & Impact Roundtables: KOFF operates since 2002 a joint learning platform in which the thematic experts for peacebuilding and conflict sensitivity of ten major Swiss organisations meet in regular intervals. It serves as an information hub and community of practice. It focuses on discussing recent developments and learnings from whithin these organisations, and deepens the understanding of the conceptual challenges of the peacebuilding field. More on Peacebuilding Analysis & Impact

Gender & Peacebuilding Roundtables: The KOFF gender platform fosters discussions and exchange of ideas between practitioners and policy-makers from NGOs and governmental institutions on emerging issues within the area of gender and peacebuilding. Since 2006 KOFF convenes a working group on UN Security Council Resolution 1325 to facilitate the consultation process between Swiss NGOs and political division IV of the Swiss Foreign Ministry focusing on the implementation of the National Action Plan 1325. More on Gender & Peacebuilding
