swisspeace has conducted research on Nepal with a focus on Business & Peace, including within the frame of the Swiss National Center of Competence in Research North-South (NCCR) project. swisspeace has also gained expertise in Nepal through a number of consultancy mandates on conflict sensitivity and Dealing with the Past.

The Center for Peacebuilding (KOFF) has organized regular roundtables on Nepal, bringing together representatives from governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as academia, to share experiences and lessons learned from the field.

Handbook National Dialogue

The National Dialogue Handbook is the result of a two-year project (March 2015 – February 2017) by the Berghof Foundation, in cooperation with swisspeace, and supported by the Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. swisspeace contribute its research to the Handbook and commissioned two in-depth case studies on Nepal and Guatemala, produced by local researchers. Other case studies which inform the Handbook’s findings include Libya, Mali, Sudan and Tunisia. Link.

Facilitation, Mediation and Dialogue Training in Nepal

The Centre for Security Studies at the ETH Zurich (CSS) and swisspeace organized, under the framework of the Mediation Support Project (MSP), a five-days training for facilitators in Nepal. The ‘Facilitation, Mediation and Dialogue Training for Young Facilitators’ aimed at preparing a new generation of facilitators within the Nepal Transition to Peace-Institute (NTTP-I) for their future role in facilitating dialogues between conflict parties on all levels of society in Nepal.
