West Africa

swisspeace has developed expertise in West Africa through the implementation of various projects and mandates in Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea, Liberia, Mali and Sierra Leone. For example: in Côte d'Ivoire, together with local partners, swisspeace conducted long-term research on Statehood & Conflict within the frame of the Swiss National Center of Competence in Research North-South (NCCR) project; in Guinea, the swisspeace BEFORE conflict prevention project ran from 2008-2014; and in Mali, in 2013, swisspeace conducted a conflict sensitivity analysis for the Center for Peacebuilding (KOFF).

KOFF has organized regular roundtables on the West Africa region, bringing together representatives from governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as academia, to share experiences and lessons learned from the field.
