swisspeace organizes regular events on topics related to Mediation. The program, in cooperation with the Centre for Peacebuilding KOFF, and the Mediation Support Project MSP also provides a platform for Swiss governmental and non-state actors for joint learning processes and strategy development in the area of Mediation.

KOFF roundtable on "Peace Agreement in Colombia: What do we learn from Guatemala?"
KOFF discussed the lessons that could be learned from Guatemala's peace process 20 years ago for the ongoing process in Columbia. Civil society representatives from Guatemala and Colombia shared their experience and concluded that it is crucial for the international community not to leave a country after the signing of a peace agreement but to stay and accompany the process further in order to protect vicitms and human rights activits in the long run. The discussion with Luis Guillermo (CINEP), Luz Estella (COLEMAD), and Ricardo (Sembrando Paz) was very positive and constructive, with faith that something will move forward in Colombia and that the current situation offers the opportunity to redicuss what kind of peace the country needs.

Conference about civilian crisis prevention
David Lanz spoke at a conference in Berlin organized by the Social Democratic Party (SPD) parliamentary group about civilian crisis prevention.
