
Rahel Fischer holds a MA in history, communications and drama studies from the Universities of Berne and Fribourg. In her master thesis she examined Swiss "third-world"-movements in the post-1968 era. Before joining swisspeace, she worked as a researcher for Caritas Zürich and for the department of modern history at the University of Berne. She also spent six months in Quito, Ecuador working for the local NGO CENIT. For more than ten years Rahel has been engaged in human rights activism, since 2004 as a board member of the Swiss section of Amnesty International. At the Center for Peacebuilding (KOFF) she is responsible for the coordination of the KOFF-Training series and working on issues of gender & peacebuilding.
