What We Do...

Research and Knowledge Management: MSP develops peace mediation methodology and topical expertise, drawing on the experience of peace mediators, in particular of the Swiss FDFA.

Training and Retreats:
MSP designs and implements tailor-made trainings and workshops in peace mediation. The focus group includes diplomats, ambassadors, peace promotion experts, UN staff, and mediators, as well as conflict parties.

Networking:
MSP provides networking platforms for peace mediators, such as roundtables or international gatherings, and develops information network tools.

Process Support: MSP provides direct support to mediators and conflict parties in ongoing mediation processes.

Who We Are...

MSP was founded in 2005 as a joint venture between the Swiss Peace Foundation (swisspeace) and the Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich. The main partner of MSP is the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), especially its Political Affairs Division IV (Human Security).
